USPA is the United States Padel Association, also called USA Padel. It organizes the national competition circuit and sets its tournament rules and rankings. A USPA tournament is part of that circuit.

A local tournament designed to get more people competing. The number is the tournament tier, not your playing level. Other tiers include 250, 500, 750, 1000 and 2000, with more ranking points available as the number rises. You enter a division that suits your level.

Yes! Results in women’s or men’s categories can earn you USA Padel national ranking points, depending on your division and finish. It’s a way to start building your ranking. WPR stands for World Padel Rating. It gives you a player rating based on match results, helping you find players at a similar level. Think of it as a measure of how you play, while USPA rankings track results on the competition circuit.

They’re divisions that group players by level. D1 is generally the strongest group, followed by D2, D3 and D4. Your division is the group you enter for that tournament; your WPR is your individual rating. The two help you find a fair match.

Choose the level you play comfortably at today. Your WPR and your coach’s advice can help. If you’re between two divisions, tell the organizer your rating and experience and ask where you fit. You don’t need perfect shots to try your first tournament!

For a doubles tournament, you’ll usually enter as a pair. Many socials let you come on your own and rotate partners. Leagues may use individual or team registration. The event details will tell you which setup to expect.

Events with a category reserved for women, where women play against women. Mixed-only and open/coed events are excluded. A tournament can still appear here if it has a separate women’s category alongside other categories.
